Heating interruptions

Prepare for a heating interruption

Finnish district heating is exceptionally reliable. However, heating interruptions can still occur, for example due to structural faults or human activity. Here you will find tips on preparing for heating interruptions, as well as guidance on maintaining and troubleshooting your district heating equipment.

What to do during a heating interruption

We always notify residents in advance of planned heating interruptions caused by maintenance or construction work. We aim to keep heating supply interruptions so short that they have little or no impact on our customers.

Report a fault in the district heating network

Near the district heating network, you may notice green-coloured water, snow-free patches in otherwise snowy areas, or steam rising from vent pipes.

District heating and district cooling interruption notification service

Turku Energia's notification service keeps you informed about district heating and district cooling interruptions. If the supply of district heating or district cooling is interrupted, you will receive a notification directly by text message or email. This gives you time to prepare and helps you avoid unpleasant surprises. Notifications are sent in Finnish.
